A Human Resources Development is a professional who is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating the learning and development activities of an organization.
A Human Resources Development’s main goal is to enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of the employees and the organization as a whole.

Some of the typical duties and responsibilities of a Human Resources Development are:

  • Conducting a training needs analysis to identify the gaps and opportunities for learning and development in the organization.
  • Developing and implementing a learning and development strategy that aligns with the organization’s vision, mission, values, and goals.
  • Designing and delivering various learning and development programs, such as workshops, courses, e-learning modules, coaching, mentoring, etc., using appropriate methods and tools.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness and impact of the learning and development programs, using various metrics and feedback mechanisms.
  • Managing the learning and development budget and resources, ensuring optimal utilization and return on investment.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, such as managers, employees, trainers and consultants  to ensure the quality and relevance of the learning and development programs.
  • Staying updated on the latest trends and best practices in learning and development, and applying them to the organization’s context.
  • Creating and maintaining a learning culture and environment that fosters continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

Some of the qualifications and skills required for a Human Resources Development are:
  • At least 3 years of experience in learning and development, training, or a similar role, preferably in a large or complex organization.
  • Knowledge and expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, learning technologies, and evaluation methods.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to measure and demonstrate the value of learning and development.
  • Creative, innovative, and proactive mindset, with the ability to design and deliver effective and engaging learning and development programs.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
